Benjamin M. Soto has worked in the real estate field for more than 30 years as an attorney. He owns two companies that focus on real estate and is a member of both the DC Bar and the Pennsylvania Bar.
Owner, Premium Title & Escrow, LLC
Benjamin owns Premium Title & Escrow, LLC, a title company that provides settlement services for residential and commercial properties in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and Tennessee. Since its inception in 2000, the company has consistently ranked among the highest-volume title companies in the DMV area for over two decades, as reported by the Washington Business Journal.
His staff brings together a century of combined experience. They conduct comprehensive title searches and manage closings, ensuring that buyers and lenders receive a clear and marketable title. The company issues Owner’s Title Policies, which protect property owners from financial loss caused by covered risks, and Lender’s Title Policies, which protect lien positions for lenders. Premium Title & Escrow, LLC also manages all steps of the settlement process, including preparing documents, handling escrow funds, and recording with Land Records to ensure accuracy.
Owner, Paramount Development, LLC
Benjamin also leads Paramount Development, LLC, a company that acquires and develops commercial buildings and hotels in Washington, D.C. The firm has completed several projects, including The Wharf and apartment buildings at 555 E Street, SW; 1031 4th Street, NW; and 350 Maple Drive. The 555 E Street development is a 12-story mixed-use property featuring a 253-room hotel, residential units, and over 10,000 square feet of retail space.
In 2015, he developed the Hyatt Place Hotel at 400 East Street, SW. The hotel includes updated design and technology, as well as a fire station that houses Engine Company 13, Truck Company 10, and Foam Unit 2, which protects the U.S. President.
A Member on Numerous Prestigious Boards
He is a member of the Board of Directors of EagleBank, a community bank with assets exceeding $11 billion and 22 branches across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. He also serves on the boards of the DC Chamber of Commerce, where he has been a member for 10 years, and the DC Public Education Fund, where he has been a member for 19 years. Additionally, he is a member of the American University Real Estate Council.

As someone born and raised in Washington, D.C., he has built his reputation by working fairly and consistently. Benjamin recognizes that real estate is often the most significant investment a client will make in their lifetime. He also knows that title defects can create serious risks and, in some cases, result in the loss of property rights. For that reason, he places his focus on ensuring clients are protected.
Early in His Career
At the start of his career, he managed personal and commercial bankruptcy cases. Over time, he decided to focus solely on real estate and began conducting closings for developers, real estate agents, loan officers, government entities, and other industry professionals.
Past Affiliations
His professional service has included many roles. He served as Vice Chair of the Board of Real Property Assessment and Appeals, a member of the National Bar Association, a Trustee of Georgetown Day School, and a member of the DC Sports & Entertainment Commission, which led the development of Nationals Park. He is also an investor in the team.
In addition, he served as treasurer on 16 mayoral and council campaigns in Washington, D.C.
A Philanthropist
Benjamin is dedicated to community service. He is the founding Board Director of the DC Public Education Fund and also serves on the Board of the National Foundation for Affordable Housing Solutions. This nonprofit works to preserve affordable rental housing and to create new communities for low-income families by partnering with developers and using federal financing programs.
Family Life
He grew up in Washington, D.C., and attended American University. He has been married for 27 years, and he and his wife have two children. Their 24-year-old daughter works in New York City as a media and crisis strategist. Their son is a junior at Northeastern University, where he studies economics and finance.
In his free time, he enjoys traveling and reading.
